What is the difference between a pastry chef and a baker?
I am looking into attending the Culinary Institute of America next year and I need to know the difference between a baker and pastry chef before I apply. I currently work in a bakery, and i know wat bakers do, so whats different about a pastry chef?
Pastry Chefs make desserts like cakes, pies, tarts, cookies, small and large pastries (puff pastry napoleons, etc), confections and sugar work. Bakers generally deal with breads.
