How should I ask my professor for a reccomendation for a study abroad program?
I’m king of quiet in class. I simply show up to class and do my work. I don’t really know the professor and they don’t really know me. I need a letter of reccomendation from a professor. Is it ok if I just give them a copy of my resume and ask them to write me a letter of reccomendation?
I think that’s fine. As long as you are doing well in the class I don’t see why he or she would say anything bad about you. I actually studied in London England last summer and I was kind of in your shoes. However I had spoken to the professor once or twice outside of class at office hours. But I didn’t really participate in class either. Anyway I sent him an email asking him to be a reference (I only needed a refrence and not a letter of recommendation) Just ask…I’m sure he or she will be willing to help you out. Just ask them to talk about how well you are doing in the class and how this opportunity will be beneficial for you to break out of your shell. Good luck and have a fantastic time where ever you are going! You’re going to have so much fun!!!
Yes, I think that would be okay. If you have been like that in class, the professor should know it and should not expect you to really do a presentation or something to convince him to make a recommendation letter for you. unblock your abilities, especially since you are planning to go and astudy abroad. It would greatly help if you would develop your social skills early on as you would surely meet a lot of people from different cultures. You should open yourself up.
