...that was my case. I was living in Kissimme, and I ended moving to West Palm Beach because of my job. At the beginning I used to travel every 6 weeks to get my hair done in Kissimmee with my hairdresser there. Every time I traveled my haircut cost about $150.00, which included gas & tolls and the haircut & tips for the hairdresser. My staying there was free because I have a sister that lives there. I got to a point that I could afforded anymore, and start looking for a hairdresser in my area. No one did my hair like my hairdresser in Kissimmee. It has been almost 7 yrs since I moved from Kissimmee to West Palm Beach, and I haven't find a good hairdresser. So once in a while I still go to Kissimmee to have my hair done the way I like it. At the present moment I am unemployed, and looking forward to move back to Kissimmee just to be near my hairdresser. The hair to me is my presentation to the world.... Good luck!

I'm a hairdresser and I don't blame you at all for this question.

My idea is that if you really like your stylist and you would consider driving 2 hours, then try this. Will it be in a place that has a lot if things to do? Is there a shopping mall or something fun to do in the area that your stylist is going? If thats the case, maybe go on a saturday (if she is available on Satrudays) with a friend and get your hair done and make it a fun trip. Go to a fun restaurant or something so you wont feel as guilty.

If you decide it's too much gas and too far, then go on and look up reviews on local salons. You can enter in the distance from where you are and all sorts of salons with user reviews will give you a good idea on where you should go.

Hope this helps and sorry for the loss of your hairdresser... : (

PS- yes I'm sure you would find someone else closer to you who knows how to highlight your hair the same way or even better. Highlighting hair is a very high demanded service and many many stylists can do a great job!

2 of my best friends studied hairdressing and i was amazed to see how many models they required for classes. they also did a lot of friends' hair as well as mine. they really get a lot of practice during their studying years and they were all immediately employed straight after that at minimum wage at top hairsalons even though they delivered a high standard of work.

but it also depends on ur relationship with ur current hairdresser. no one, no matr how well skilled, can replace that.

remember you can always reverse bad results of a bad colouring job, but not a bad cut. so u can take the chance with colouring and get away with it.

20 minutes drive time. No more. Be on the lookout for good cuts or good color - whatever it was that made you like her so much. You're looking for a good colorist - and not every one is good... so get recommendations by asking people whose color you like.

i wouldnt drive almost 2 hours to see the hairdresser. that's too much of an inconvenience. i dont know if everyone can do highlights the way youre talking about, but it wouldnt hurt to look around. maybe you can ask some friends to refer you to someone they go to
