You need to be a state licensed cosmetologist to legally do hair. In order to get a license you will need to go to an accredited cosmetology school. Around here the requirements are 1600 hours. The courses can be as long as 6 months and as short as 1 or 2 months. Specialize in only hair section. Then go a start working at a salon. Dont keep working at the same one. Change salons so you can learn something new everytime. Pratice on friends and family. This way you will get ur experience too. and in no time u can be a great hairdresser. Take a beauticians course.
